What is the point…?
Tonya Sims, is the Founder and President of the Arizona Foster and Adoption Alliance. She created the non profit because she saw a need. Our organization is dedicated to supporting children in foster care and adoptive families, and we are seeking assistance in raising funds for the vital program focused on hair care and hygiene maintenance.
Many times, when children are placed in homes with a different cultural background, their new families may not be familiar with how to care for their hair. To address this, the Arizona Foster and Adoption Alliance has partnered with a network of skilled stylists and barbers who have generously offered to provide their services free of charge to families in need. In addition to providing haircuts and styling, these professionals will also teach parents and older children how to maintain their hair properly.
We also plan to offer monthly classes on hair and hygiene maintenance, and provide families with goody bags containing essential products to support their journey to healthy hair and good hygiene.
